is part of the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Case Comprehensive Cancer Center at Case Western Reserve University, one of 50 Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the country.

The Nursing Assistant II (NA II) is an entry-level position specifically designed for current nursing students aiming to enrich their preparation for a nursing career. Under the guidance of an experienced nurse, you will acquire valuable hands‑on experience by providing safe, efficient, age‑specific care to patients and families in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status. The role is designed to build upon the experience gained in the classroom and during clinical rotations.

Responsibilities include:

Direct patient care delivery (includes ADLs, hygiene measures, select treatments, patient/family education, discharge preparation)

Communication and documentation of interventions and observations

Participation in quality improvement process

Involved in learning and self‑improvement

Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers

Ambulatory Outpatient Float Pool

Outpatient clinics oversee the management of Oncology patients as they navigate their cancer journey by supporting patients and providers during provider driven clinical visits.

This unit oversees the management and administration of patients receiving intravenous infusions of chemotherapy/immunotherapy and other therapeutic regimes to treat and support patients with both Oncologic and Non‑Oncologic conditions.

Thorough knowledge of nursing process and practice. Successful completion of a Nursing Fundamentals course required.

Special Skills, Equipment:

Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed medical therapies (i.e. stethoscope, thermometers, glucometers, and electronic monitoring devices). Excellent communication skills.
