Job Description
Patient Assessment; Perform systematic, comprehensive, and accurate assessments. Monitor effects of medications and treatments and report adverse effects in a timely manner. Provides appropriate intervention, reassessment, and documentation.
Demonstrate competent clinical skills. Analyze situations critically. Maintain complete and accurate documentation. Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and revise the plan of care as needed. Follows Standing orders from our ACH Medical Director.
Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team. Completes hand-off communication and give complete reports to other caregivers.
Demonstrate critical thinking and time management skills necessary for effective patient care. Assume responsibility and accountability for all work assignments. Utilizes approved clinical communication tools (AH email) in accordance with organizational standards.
Maintains clinical documentation, adheres to safety protocols, and supports patient education and advocacy. Follows HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission, Standards of Nursing Practice supported by NJ BON, professional association, ANA Code of Ethics & Scope of Standards and Practice NJ Board of Health, and hospital standards. Supports client in ensuring compliance with State Nurse Practice Act, FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, EPA, and HIPPA as required.
Responds to on-site emergencies. Implements emergency first aid care and crisis management for job-related injuries/illnesses and non-work-related illnesses.
Review all "at work" injuries/illnesses with the employee, the client contact, and, where applicable, the client disability management team to address any potential future injuries.
Provides appropriate physician referrals for personal illnesses and injuries with consideration given to the employee's home address and culture.
Communication - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Computer Skills - Proficient in the ability to use a computer. Must be proficient in outlook, word and excel.
Confidentiality - Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
Decision Making - Ability to make critical decisions while following CMC/COHC policies and procedures.
Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
Flexibility - Ability to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilities.
Positivity - Display a positive attitude and is a positive agent for change.
Teamwork - Work as part of a team and collaborate with co-workers.
Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
Spanish speaking preferred service.

Qualifications Required:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification.
Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience. Prior experience working with EMR's preferred.
Prior experience in ambulatory care, occupational medicine or emergency room nursing.
Prior experience working with federal and state regulatory authorities such as OSHA, PEOSH, etc.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in nursing.
All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
ABOHN Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S)- preferred.
Certification in Case Management by ABOHN or CCMC-preferred.
DOT Drug Screen Collector Certification- preferred.
Breath Alcohol Technician Certification- preferred.
NIOSH-Approved (#043) Spirometry Training Certification Course- preferred.
Occupational Hearing Conservationist (OHC)- certification- preferred.
Certification in Case Management by ABOHN or CCMC-preferred.
DOT Drug Screen Collector Certification- preferred.
Breath Alcohol Technician Certification- preferred.
