Position Summary
The Pediatrician provides comprehensive medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. This role focuses on preventive care, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic pediatric conditions, and family-centered care to support healthy growth and development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive pediatric care to infants, children, and adolescents
Conduct well-child visits, health screenings, and immunizations
Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries
Manage chronic pediatric conditions such as asthma, diabetes, obesity, and developmental disorders
Monitor growth, development, and behavioral health
Provide anticipatory guidance and education to patients and families
Coordinate care with pediatric subspecialists, schools, and community resources
Interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory results
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives
Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers, residents, or clinical staff as applicable
Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited pediatrics residency program
Board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatrics
Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure
DEA registration or eligibility
Skills and Competencies
Broad knowledge of pediatric medicine and child development
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
Excellent communication and family counseling abilities
Ability to manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions
Commitment to evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care
Work Environment
Outpatient pediatric clinic with possible inpatient or newborn nursery responsibilities depending on practice scope
Call coverage as determined by practice needs
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environments
Manual dexterity for examinations and office-based procedures
Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment
Must maintain state certification and/or licensure.
