Pigment Formulation Specialist
isresponsible for pigment color development and release for production use in the Plastisol Line Process. Optimizes pigment color formulations to reduce the impact on our Printing Processes. Key Responsibilities
What does a typical day look like? I'm glad you asked! Charged with the modification and developing new pigments. Develop for Approval for all Plastisol colors on the production floor. Releases all colors for use on the PLA Line Process once approved. Produce high quality pigment color matches to meet customer and production requirements. Enter/maintain related color formulations on controlled documents, records, SAP and production systems. Compile daily reports. Collect “run samples”. Conduct visual color checks on PLA line. Conducts analysis of Printing results and optimizes the PLA Pigment to reduce the impacts of PEM proofing time. Assist in the evaluation of new pigments and materials to allow continuous improvement in this area. Maintain standard and production sample libraries. Maintain production color computer standard libraries. Scrap reduction efforts due to color / pigment related issues. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment Assist in developing and conducting programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards Other duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required Experience and Skills: Education High school diploma, GED, Manufacturing technology and/or surface coating technology certificate program or equivalent experience. Related college degree preferred. Color Acuity of “exceptional” as tested in-house on HVC color test. Experience 5 years (5) years of experience in a color development utilizing base pigments / pigment dispensing / mixing role in a medium to large manufacturing company or related experience. Benefits
