Requirements

2+ years of backend engineering experience

Proven ability to scale APIs with high load/performance requirements

Previous work at top-tier tech, fintech, or crypto companies

Startup/founder or early-stage experience is a major plus

Based in NYC or willing to relocate

Job Description Join Artemis as a backend engineer to scale infrastructure, build high-performance APIs, and expand onchain products in a fast-paced, crypto-finance environment.

Artemis is hiring a foundational backend engineer to help scale its infrastructure and expand onchain product offerings. This is a critical early hire as the company scales revenue and product depth, supported by major legislation (GENIUS + CLARITY Acts) and macro tailwinds in crypto-finance convergence.

What You’ll Do:

Own and build high-performance APIs (10M+ API calls/month, 100k+ MAUs)

Build onchain-native software (EVM/Solana smart contracts & integrations)

Interact with enterprise clients & protocols for feedback and partnerships

Help define engineering culture and best practices as a core team member

Tech Stack:

Backend: Python (FastAPI), DuckDB, Postgres

Frontend: Next.js, React Native (Nice-to-have, not required)

Onchain: Smart contracts (EVM/Solana) & onchain data integrations
