What You’ll Do…
These positions are located at our Drill Bits & Services in Conroe, Texas. Our co-op program philosophy is to “recruit once, hire twice” with the hope to hire co-ops back into full-time or return co-op/internship roles.
The co-op program assignments are 8 months in duration and are full-time co-op positions. The summer 2026 co-op is expected to begin after completing the 2026 Spring semester. You must be able to complete the co-op starting June ending in December.
Projects you could potentially work on include:
Research, create and help drive new innovative component designs
Drive new product development from concept to commercialization, including prototyping, lab testing, and field trials
Validate new and existing component designs using analysis methods such as finite element analyis, statistical analysis, materials testing, etc.
Participate in brainstorming, concept reviews, design reviews, etc, to drive innovation in a collaborative environment
Proactively learning about new technologies
Work with technology, operations, and manufacturing team to deliver new component designs
What You’ll Bring to Our Team Required Qualifications:
Reliable transportation to and from work daily is required.
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States both now and in the future; Halliburton will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience with CAD software packages such as Solidworks or Siemens NX is preferred
Experience with CAE software packages to perform finite element analysis, such as ABAQUS or ANSYS
Ability & desire to work with multiple groups to drive projects forward
Desired Qualifications:
Prior intern, co-op, or research experience
Strong analytical and technical skills
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and results-oriented
Strong problem-solving abilities
Understanding of design principles
Knowledge on using CAD and CAE software packages to develop and verify designs
Excellent oral and written communication skills
What We Offer… Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. To qualify, your university and/or permanent address must be more than 50 miles from your work location.
Corporate housing provided for the summer to those candidates who qualify.
Relocation assistance.
Salary Range: $26/hour for students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree; $31/hour for students pursuing a Master’s degree; $36/hour for students pursuing a PhD
