Location: Killeen Dental Group

Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm | Fridays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Comfort: Welcome and prepare patients for treatments or check‑ups, ensuring their comfort and addressing any concerns.

Assist with Procedures: Set up instruments, equipment, and materials needed for dental procedures; assist the dentist through 4‑handed dentistry and ensure the room is well‑prepared.

Instrument Sterilization & Safety: Follow proper sterilization procedures and ensure all instruments are sanitized in compliance with health regulations.

Lab Tasks & Post‑Operative Care: Assist with lab tasks as directed and provide patients with post‑operative care instructions.

Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, assisting with charts, treatment documentation, and payment procedures.

Scheduling & Office Support: Assist in scheduling appointments and ensuring the office runs smoothly with minimal disruptions; keep the room clean, organized, and well‑stocked.

Regulated Tasks: Perform non‑surgical tasks such as coronal polishing if certified, and assist with other regulated tasks as allowed by local regulations.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience in a clinical setting.

Certification: Dental Assistant Certification (CDA or RDA) is required; additional certifications such as EFDA or radiology certifications are a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:

In‑depth knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols.

Familiarity with dental procedures and treatments.

Understanding of health and safety regulations in a dental office.

Experience with dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) highly preferred.

Clinical Competence: Ability to perform regulated non‑surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, and assist with other procedures.

Communication & Patient Care: Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring comfort.

Organization & Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail; ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Team‑Oriented: Ability to work effectively in a team environment while providing high‑quality patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Certifications: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), Radiology Certification, or Dental Hygiene Assistant certification.

Language Skills: Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) would be a plus but not required.
