Eligible for $1,500 Hiring Bonus

Wage: Starting at $21.07/hour (2nd shift), with automatic raises up to $23.95/hour (2nd shift). Schedule: 3pm – 11pm, Monday – Friday. When overtime is required: 12‑hour shifts (3pm – 3am).

JOB TITLE: Material Handler (Warehouse Manufacturing)

DEPARTMENT: Cutting and/or Finishing

WORK SCHEDULE: 8‑hour shift

Job Summary The Material Handler helps maintain efficient process flow in the manufacturing environment. Assisting the department operators, this position generally operates forklifts and other PIVs to relocate WIP, keep work areas clean and organized, and perform a variety of additional production tasks throughout the shift. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the ins‑and‑outs of the paperboard manufacturing industry!

Job Functions

Operate forklift, and other material handling equipment as required safely (including charging and maintenance of propane/batteries – performance of daily PM checklist).

Be able to complete Material Handler Forklift Training Checklist.

Operate stretch wrapper safely; operate the warehouse management system to check manufacturing inventory, locations.

Must know manufacturing paperwork documentation procedures for movement of warehouse materials with forklift and be able to complete the forms efficiently and accurately.

Work with other material handlers, production operators, and manufacturing assistants to keep production areas serviced.

Assist less experienced material handlers when necessary.

Work toward and maintain an accurate orderly warehouse inventory by placing manufacturing product in proper places.

Work in a safe manner and assure coworkers work in a safe manner.

Responsible for compliance with all manufacturing facility safety and quality policies & procedures including product safety (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Warehouse employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area in support of AIB/5S and other company standards.

Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).

Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5S, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.

Strives to clearly understand customer production requirements and delivers results to meet or exceed customer expectations. Ability and responsibility to stop any manufacturing process that is not meeting food safety requirements.

Ability and responsibility to stop any manufacturing or warehouse process that is not meeting customer quality production requirements.

Has the responsibility to handle hazardous and other chemical waste in a manner that complies with GPI manufacturing procedures and is consistent with training received.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the proper accumulating, marking, containerizing, handling, storing, shipping, and preparing of records and shipping papers/manifests for hazardous and other non‑hazardous chemical wastes that will help ensure warehouse compliance.

Additional Duties

Provides relief for breaks as needed.

Keeps production area and machine clean throughout shift.

Responsible for understanding and adhering to all GMP, manufacturing, safety, food safety, SQF, HACCP and food defense procedures (training will be provided).

Any other reasonable request from management.
