Job Overview Our client is seeking a highly experienced Structural Engineer to join their expanding Tampa office, specializing in forensic investigations and field assessments. This role involves evaluating structural damage, determining causes, and recommending repair solutions for a wide range of building types impacted by natural events or human factors. Ideal candidates will bring strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing multiple projects and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct on-site assessments to document existing conditions and structural damage caused by natural events (e.g., wind, water, fire, seismic activity) or human‑related factors (e.g., design or construction issues).

Analyze construction documents and design drawings to support evaluations.

Apply knowledge of structural behavior, construction practices, and building codes to determine causes of damage and recommend repair strategies.

Prepare clear, detailed technical reports and communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.

Coordinate with clients, contractors, and code officials throughout project lifecycles.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery.

Support client relationship development and retention.

Travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.

At least 5‑10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong understanding of structural systems and behavior.

Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, or ability to obtain licensure in multiple states preferred.

Familiarity with national building codes and standards.

Experience with various construction types and field investigations is a plus.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in litigation support including expert testimony.
