Field Services Technician As a Field Services Technician at Appalachian Network Services Inc., you will play a crucial role in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining our comprehensive copper and fiber optic cabling infrastructure. Your expertise in low‑voltage cabling systems will ensure the high‑quality implementation and maintenance of video and data cables, supporting the core operations of our organization and our clients.

Wage: $20–25 per hour

Key Responsibilities

Execute the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low‑voltage cabling systems, including CAT6, low‑voltage cables, and fiber, to organizational and industry standards.

Install access control systems and surveillance cameras, adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements.

Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and efficiently diagnose and resolve issues to maintain system integrity and performance.

Engage in complex installations requiring detailed technical knowledge and problem‑solving skills.

Maintain accurate documentation related to project execution, outcomes, and product usage, ensuring all materials installed are well‑documented and communicated to the Supply Chain Manager.

Participate in team meetings, offering insights for improving operational efficiency.

Maintain and manage the proper upkeep of work tools and materials.

Strictly adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols. Report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions promptly.

Licensing and Compliance Requirements This role requires active participation in obtaining an NC Alarm System License Registrant. Management of the licensure process will be overseen by our NC Alarm System License Licensee to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and solve complex issues.

Familiarity with networking issues, server racks, patch panels, and closet work.

Ability to work in small spaces, at varying heights, and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs (and occasionally heavier).

Must be able to safely work on ladders for extended periods while complying with safety standards.

Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in telecommunications or related field preferred.

At least 2 years of relevant experience demonstrating a high level of proficiency and independence in field service operations.

Schedule

Full‑time, 8‑hour shift, Monday to Friday

Willingness to travel up to 40%

As part of this process, the selected candidate will be subject to a criminal background check, FBI fingerprinting, and drug testing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
