Midwest Transit Equipment, Inc. (MTE) is seeking a Full‑Time Parts Inside Sales associate for our new Gary, IN location. This role will begin training at our South Holland facility until the Gary site opens in the fall.
Pay Range 24.00 USD/hr – 28.00 USD/hr
Job Summary This 2nd Shift position works Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm. The candidate will assist customers with parts inquiries, collaborate with Outside Parts Sales Representatives for orders, and manage inventory and warehouse tasks.
Responsibilities
Update existing Work Orders
Enter notes into the 360 System
Identify needed parts using the most efficient method
Operate forklift to retrieve parts from inventory
Maintain accurate inventory by updating the company inventory system
Conduct cycle counts of the parts warehouse
Receive inventory into the computer system and put it away in the proper location
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience in a parts department
Mechanical aptitude or experience in automotive or truck mechanics
Forklift certification preferred Ability to lift at least 25–50 pounds
