Job Overview Performs duties to instruct operators in the safe and proper methods of performing their duties to produce molded parts conforming to quality and self‑maintenance standards. Capable of changeovers for all molding vertical and horizontal machines to operate safely while following setup instruction sheets, ensuring production machines produce quality parts to meet production requirements, and responsible to run the department in absence of the Team Leader.

Essential Functions

Instruct operators in the safe and proper operation of all presses to produce a molded part conforming to quality requirements.

Verify process set‑ups in accordance with instructions on all machines.

Perform in‑process checks, tests and gaging as required by control plans and operator instructions.

Receive instructions from the team leader and work specifications and transmit them to associates.

Follow and enforce safety rules and keep the work area clean and orderly.

Control the molding machine operations to produce high‑quality parts, improving productivity and introducing new parts.

Responsible for 1st‑piece validation for each job and correct material usage.

Validate work standards are followed by molding associates.

Keep the department in good 4S order per cleaning schedule and 4S rule.

Assist in training all “S”, “A”, and “B” operators.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Receive instruction from Team Leader; primary focus on machine quality, set‑ups, verification of machine set‑up, productivity, schedule adherence, and performing required PMs.

Remain actively involved in Kaizen activities to improve the Molding department.

Secondary Functions

Fill Team Leader role during vacations or absenteeism.

May be required to act as “S” operator on an emergency basis.

Use hand tools, crane, grinders, calipers, and gauges.

May use power industrial trucks and hand pallet jack.

Occasionally interact with suppliers on potential quality problems.

Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years previous molding experience.

High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Factory environment with noise from manufacturing equipment. Exposure to dangerous equipment.

Potential for serious injury due to carelessness around equipment.

May lift, carry, or move objects up to 50 pounds.

When molding requires excessive weekends, associate will rotate weekends with Team Leader.
