Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day support of human resources activities in the Firm’s Southern California offices. Duties include assisting with the recruiting process; handling the onboarding process, new hire orientations, ensuring completion of personnel paperwork, overseeing timesheet processing, data entry into the Firm’s HRIS, filing and other administrative or clerical duties as assigned. The position will assist with administration of leaves of absence and workers’ compensation as needed and provide support to the HR Manager in planning HR related activities such as Staff Appreciation week and Staff Recognition Dinner. The HR Specialist is expected to perform all job duties with a commitment to providing superior service, producing quality work, maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate good judgment, discretion and tact at all times.
Required Qualifications
Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Three (3) years of prior human resources and administrative experience in a professional services office environment preferred.
Jones Day offers competitive salaries and benefits to all employees. Compensation is determined upon the market in which the position is located, the responsibilities of the position, the experience and skills of the applicant, and other job-related factors. The starting pay scale for this Los Angeles position is $65,000 - $80,000.
