Job Summary Assist Title I teachers as needed by overseeing small groups (3-6 students) for reading/writing instruction, supervising students throughout the day, performing clerical and computer tasks, tutoring individual students in reading/writing/language skills and preparing materials for lessons.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee small groups (3-6 students) for reading/writing instruction.
Supervise students throughout the day, as assigned, i.e., classroom, playground and cafeteria.
Perform clerical and computer tasks (word processing, typing, filing and copying).
Tutor individual students in reading/writing/language skills.
Prepare materials for lessons, assemble learning displays/bulletin boards and process books.
(Elementary/K-8) Perform crossing guard duties as assigned by school administration to attend crossing guard training and direct children and traffic at assigned crosswalks to ensure safe crossing.
(Elementary/K-8) Perform lunchroom monitor duties as assigned by school administration to assist students with lining up to receive their lunches, help open items on trays, enforce lunchroom rules, lead students to the lunchroom, dismiss students from the lunchroom, wipe down tables, and assist with organizing and implementing indoor activities during inclement weather.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Upload or scan official transcripts if applicable.
0–2 years experience.
Child development, literacy or English language experience preferred.
Basic English, writing and communication skills; basic knowledge of computers and office equipment.
CPR and First Aid preferred.
Must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
