As an Eligibility & Benefits Specialist with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

Verify insurance coverage for new and existing patients.

Navigate multiple insurance portals or phone systems to obtain necessary benefits.

Reconcile obtained information within the EMR to ensure successful claim processing.

Obtain all referrals and authorizations for office visits as required.

Liaise between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance carriers to ensure proper documentation and collection.

Enter authorization numbers and expiration dates into the EMR for proper claim processing.

Update pertinent insurance notes across multiple EMR systems for departmental access.

Maintain medical records in accordance with practice policies and procedures.

Use state or federally regulated websites that may require personal login credentials.

Qualifications

Excellent customer/patient service skills.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Working knowledge of computer programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to perform training on practice management software.

Promote a favorable facility image with physicians, patients, insurance companies, and the public.

Effective telephone communication skills.

Decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.

Working knowledge of health insurance plans, including reading plan requirements.

Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum of two years’ experience in healthcare administration or a related field.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance authorization processes.
