What to Expect
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead a team of maintenance technicians to ensure the performance, reliability, and efficiency of manufacturing equipment. You will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production uptime. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and cross‑functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
What You'll Do
Oversee routine and preventative maintenance on industrial fixed and automated equipment including vertical and horizontal conveyance, automated guided vehicles, balers, robots, dock-levelers, and charging equipment and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3‑phase.
Provide effective supervision, training and coaching to assigned maintenance employees to achieve the required equipment uptime, equipment repairs, and production goals.
Maintain a safe work environment to include 5S while ensuring all employees comply with safety regulations and the plant's safety program and company standards.
Effectively communicate equipment issues with Production team.
Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms.
Provide the shift-to-shift communication link to keep all team members working toward the same goals. Communicate to employees about all issues that affect the factory.
Perform other tasks as directed by management that support the department, factory, and Tesla's mission.
What You'll Bring
Degree in Management, Engineering or related disciplines or equivalent experience preferred. Equivalent background would involve a minimum of five years in manufacturing maintenance and machine operations experience with progressive responsibility.
High degree of safety consciousness and engagement.
Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals.
Ability to work off shifts, as needed to include weekends.
Having a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and/or charging systems.
Ability to analyze problems and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long‑term solutions.
Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write and understand maintenance procedures, shift pass‑downs, and correspondence.
