Job Description We are seeking a Machine Shop Process Engineer to join our team in Waukesha, WI. In this dual role, you will be responsible for driving machining process excellence, ensuring quality standards, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll also oversee the Tool Room/Tool Crib operations – managing tooling and fixturing design, storage, maintenance, and procurement to support machining operations.
This position is a key technical resource for machining expertise, new product introduction, and challenging process improvements. Additionally, you’ll partner with leadership on capital planning and help shape the future of our machine shop capabilities.
Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert on machining processes, fixturing, tooling, and programming.
Enhance machining capabilities and support Manufacturing Engineering with accurate routing information.
Drive process improvements for new and complex machining operations.
Identify, design, and implement new tooling and fixturing solutions.
Oversee the Tool Room/Tool Crib operations: storage, distribution, maintenance, and ordering of standard/special tooling.
Assist the Machine Shop Manager with capital equipment planning and execution.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Journeyman-level training plus relevant coursework/experience.
7+ years of machining application experience.
Extensive knowledge of machining practices, fixturing, tooling, and programming.
