MKS Inc. A Day in Your Life at MKS: As an R&D Machinist (Machinist 4+) at MKS Inc. you will join the Engineering Services team to support our Engineering and Operations teams. MKS develops solutions to leading edge semiconductor manufacturing, electronics and packaging, and specialty industrial applications. We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate who works well in a team environment but can also work on their own to develop machining solutions for various complex applications. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a variety of machines, interpreting technical drawings and maintaining a high standard of precision and safety in an often fast-paced environment. You Will Make an Impact By
Supports in-house R+D engineering, manufacturing engineering and service as a team. Portrays a customer service approach. Interfaces effectively and courteously with all customers. Work with SolidWorks drawings and models along with Mastercam to create CNC programs and set-ups. Multi-task on R+D projects with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines producing prototype parts from aluminum, copper, stainless steels, plastics. Ability to read blueprints, work from sketches, or written and verbal instructions to determine machining processes, procedures, tooling and fixtures requirements. Order materials and tooling required as needed. Performs a variety of complex machining operations and/or assembly tasks utilizing all standard machine shop equipment, such as, Haas 3 axis CNC, Bridgeport milling machine, engine lathe, drill presses, band saws, and power tools producing prototype parts, occasional production parts, modifications, repairs and failure analysis. Performs machine operations, such as milling, turning, facing, boring, drilling, grooving, reaming and chamfering. Verify that part dimensions conform to specifications and tolerances if required to +/- .0002. Maintains cleanliness of the work area and ensures proper handling of tools, equipment, and stock to prevent loss. Conforms to departmental safety requirements. Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions. Familiar with SolidWorks, GrabCAD and Stratasys 3D printing. Qualifications
Trade school or High school diploma 7 plus years of machining experience with different CNC and manual machinery Must be a flexible, reliable team player with the ability to also be self-driven and work independently. Ability to create models in SolidWorks a plus Ability to work from seated and standing positions Ability to lift 30 lbs Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range: $25-45 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role. Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS.
