Overview Analyzes credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing Commercial banking loans and credit solutions in an assigned portfolio of clients. Makes credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies and procedures while maintaining an exceptional client service environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform financial analysis and calculations, assess client creditworthiness, and prepare detailed credit summaries.
Support credit‑granting decisions by making recommendations to management.
Assist in loan negotiations and structuring of loans that align with client requirements and BMO’s risk appetite and policies.
Monitor portfolio performance, analyze metrics, and assess industry trends to identify risks and opportunities.
Develop proposals to capture new business and expand client relationships.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of loan documentation, monitor loan performance, and address credit‑related issues.
Build and maintain client relationships, collaborating with Relationship Managers and other partners.
Structure and support new, renewal, and extension loans aligned with client needs and bank policies.
Take corrective action when required and minimize BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines.
Serve as a point of contact for service requests, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded and escalating issues when needed.
Support and implement initiatives to enhance service quality and acquire new business.
Identify revenue, cross‑selling, and share‑of‑wallet opportunities; leverage analysis tools to grow the portfolio.
Maintain timely and accurate data entry into BMO systems and use the data to support decision‑making.
Exercise judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules while working mostly independently.
Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Preferred 1–3 years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment.
For Credit‑Qualifiable roles, Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills as required.
Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting preferred). Other related disciplines or commensurate work experience considered.
Specialized knowledge derived from education and/or business experience.

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries may vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications. Part‑time roles are pro‑rated. Commission roles are included in the first‑year target.
