Job Summary The Engineering Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the installation, performance, and maintenance of production machinery.
Role Responsibilities
Travels to customers' locations for technical support
Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.
Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
Installs replacement parts for machines.
Identifies the causes of unexpected breakdowns of machines.
Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.
Organizes and prepares reports documenting work performed.
Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies when applicable.
Collaborates with customers during service calls/visits on recommended fixes or upgrades.
Makes necessary modifications and implements test runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
Mechanically inclined with great problem‑solving skills.
Experience working with Multivac, Scandivac, Reiser, Ulma or similar equipment preferred.
Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.
Low voltage electrical knowledge.
Must know how to use a multimeter and ammeter.
Works well independently and with others.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Organized with attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
Must be able to visually inspect machines.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Must be available for travel.
Expected travel 70% (including local travel; Home most weekends).
