BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an SAP BRIM -Database Analyst to work in the Middletown, PA area. This is a full time position with at least 2 days on-site and possibly 3 days remote.
As the Database Analyst you will analyze, maintain, and optimize data structures supporting SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) and SAP S/4HANA systems. This role ensures data integrity, performance, and compliance for high-volume subscription, billing, and invoicing processes. The analyst collaborates with DBAs, data engineers, and business teams to deliver accurate reporting, efficient queries, and secure data handling aligned with SAP best practices and Commonwealth standards.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Optimization
Analyze SAP BRIM database schemas (SOM, CI, CC) and recommend improvements for performance and scalability.
Develop and optimize SQL queries, views, and stored procedures for reporting and analytics.
Monitor data quality and integrity across transactional and analytical systems.
Reporting & Documentation
Create and maintain data dictionaries, ER diagrams, and metadata repositories.
Document database changes, mappings, and query logic using Commission-approved templates.
Compliance & Security
Ensure database operations comply with PCI DSS, SOC1/SOC2, and Commonwealth IT security protocols.
Apply role-based access and encryption for sensitive data.
Collaboration & Support
Work with DBAs and data migration teams to validate source-to-target mappings during cutover activities.
Assist business analysts and SMEs with data extraction for testing and reporting.
Performance Monitoring
Implement monitoring tools and dashboards for query performance and resource utilization.
Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues; provide recommendations for optimization.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience: 3+ years in database analysis or development within enterprise systems.
Hands-on experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA databases; familiarity with BRIM data structures.
Skills
Strong SQL and query optimization skills.
Knowledge of SAP HANA Studio and data modeling techniques.
Understanding of compliance and security frameworks for sensitive data.
Preferred Skills
SAP HANA or BRIM certifications.
Experience with utilities or transportation industry data models.
Familiarity with Agile/Hybrid methodologies and tools like ADO/JIRA.
Knowledge of SAP BTP for event-driven architecture and API management.
