Overview Astrion is seeking a Senior Technology Transfer Specialist to join our team at the Kennedy Space Center (KSC), supporting the Laboratory Support Services and Operations (LASSO II) Contract. This is a full-time senior position with supervision duties. The Technology Transfer Specialist will support NASA’s Technology Transfer and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs and lead LASSO II employees supporting both programs at KSC. The position plays a key role in advancing the commercialization of NASA-developed technologies and fostering partnerships that maximize public benefit.

Required Qualifications / Skills
Education: Master's degree in a technical or scientific discipline, business, marketing or law
Experience: Five or more years of experience in technology transfer, licensing, or technology commercialization
Skills:
Strong understanding of intellectual property laws, licensing practices, and commercialization strategies
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with industry partners and stakeholders
Strong analytical skills, including market research and competitive analysis
Proficiency with technology transfer and contract management tools
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
Responsibilities
Under LASSO II, Astrion operates and maintains a diverse set of laboratories, developmental shops and test facilities supporting programs and projects at KSC. The Senior Technology Transfer Specialist will support both LASSO II and NASA objectives through:
Serve as a primary interface between Astrion, NASA management, and stakeholders supporting Technology Transfer and SBIR-related projects
Provide project-level coordination and oversight, including schedule tracking and budget oversight, to support successful execution of assigned efforts
Contribute to workforce coordination and task planning in support of Technology Transfer and SBIR activities, consistent with program needs
For NASA’s Technology Transfer Program at KSC, responsibilities include:
Increase licensing activity and collaborative relationships with commercialization partners, including industry, entrepreneurs, and investors
Manage a portfolio of engineering and software technologies developed at KSC across the full life cycle of technology transfer
Review, assess, and manage New Technology Reports (NTRs) from submission through commercialization, licensing, or public release
Engage with NASA and contractor innovators to encourage NTR submissions through outreach, briefings, and creative engagement activities
Evaluate technologies for commercial potential and patenting opportunities
Support development of commercialization and marketing strategies in collaboration with NASA Technology Portfolio Managers
Identify and assess potential licensing partners and support negotiations and execution of licensing and partnership agreements
Maintain ongoing engagement with licensee, including monitoring milestones and ensuring required reports are submitted
