JOB TITLE:
Associate Buyer, Women’s
REPORTS TO:
Sr. Director, Women’s Buying & Retail Planning
JOB PURPOSE:
The Associate Buyer leads and collaborates with the TOM FORD Fashion, Americas Merchandising Team in the day‑to‑day management of all Women’s product categories. The Associate Buyer, Women’s partners closely with the Merchandising and Retail Teams to execute business strategy, contributing to the buying process and overseeing allocation and distribution to TOM FORD Fashion Americas stores in alignment with company strategic plans.
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Driving Women’s strategies and priorities through Tom Ford Americas Region, partnering closely with the Sr. Director to deliver the commercial plan
Identify opportunities, risks and best practices for enhancing brand efficiency in the market, monitor market trends and inventory opportunities for proactive action
Lead collection launch plans, build vital retail/merchandising tools, compile retail feedback & display imagery
Actively monitor sell‑thru by door and consolidate product to maximize sales
Partner with Sr. Director to direct responsibility of RTW, Leather Goods, Shoes, Beauty & Eyewear product categories in terms of sales performances, merchandise deliveries, benchmarking and new business opportunities, pricing and markdown proposals
Partner with third party vendors to ensure timely delivery of merchandise
Own weekly shipping reports and communicate opportunities/risks to buyers
Analyze business reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Ensure accurate reconciliation receipts with strong attention to detail and proactively flagging and resolving discrepancies
Oversee price events are entered, set up properly & accurately logged
Ad hoc reporting as needed and support for the buying team in day‑to‑day functions and responsibilities
Partner with e‑commerce merchandising and photo teams to ensure product accuracy
Participate and lead weekly store calls to discuss needs & opportunities, gathering store feedback
Build and maintain buy books, product trainings and action plan documents
Preparation & Support before, during and after buying session 4 times a year
Attend and support market through hindsight reporting, product selection and assortment (with additional direct responsibility on Shoes, Leather Goods, Beauty & Eyewear)
Manage Purchase Order entry, changes and cancellations
QUALIFICATIONS
3–4 years of experience in merchandising, buying and/or planning roles
Strong analytical and quantitative skills and passion for the fashion industry
High proficiency in retail math, Excel (pivot tables, v‑lookups), Power Point
Experience in Women’s, Men’s or Accessories (ready‑to‑wear or shoes and leather goods) is a plus
Previous e‑commerce experience is a plus
Strong organizational and analytical skill set with fashion business acumen
Excellent organizational skills and problem solving
Ability to remain flexible and adjust priorities to handle time wisely in a fast‑paced environment
Sense of urgency, strong attention to detail and ability to provide consistent follow‑up
Strong presentation, listening, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build strong working relationships with cross‑functional teams
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required
