1 year verifiable CDL experience driving heavy trucks
Job Summary Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear‑loading trucks to pick up bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material. Drivers transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility and may make one or more trips throughout the shift. The position may require handling both manual and automatic trucks, and may involve repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, moving and maneuvering up to 100 pounds, and mounting/dismounting the truck multiple times each route.
Essential Job Functions
Navigate routes that require driving through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
Perform highly skilled backing maneuvers.
Climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
Conduct pre‑ and post‑inspection of the vehicle to ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
Requirements & Qualifications
21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
Valid Class A or B CDL with airbrake endorsement.
1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
Excellent safety record and a clean MVR.
Experience as a driver or helper for a referral company is highly preferred.
Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
Ability to speak and read English, converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
Read and understand a map.
Meet the physical and safety requirements of the position.
Willing and able to work required hours as allowed under DOT regulation, which may include weekend, night, and/or holiday work.
