GMB is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to fill a role on our project teams. Our ideal candidate is a humble and confident mechanical engineer with a passion for educational design, and at least five (5) years of relevant skills and experience. The purpose of this role is to support the technical aspects of mechanical project design including code compliance, specifications, system integration and constructability.

As a Mechanical Engineer At GMB You Will
Participate in project team meetings and attend construction meetings with the client and project manager.
Build collaborative professional working relationships with various disciplines.
Prepare building models, detailed construction documents, load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork sizing, hydronic system design, and specifications.
Develop expertise in a wide variety of complex and high‑efficiency mechanical systems.
Regularly communicate with Project Manager(s) and team members to understand any changes to project design, scope, schedule and budget, completing work in a timely manner and alerting team members when a change in scope of work occurs.
Create and maintain a positive relationship of trust with clients regarding your area of expertise.
What type of knowledge do I need to succeed in this role?
More than a specific degree and exact number of years of experience, we are most excited about the knowledge you bring. For this role, we are seeking someone who works independently on individual tasks and has the ability to co‑own projects with decreasing guidance.
Some components that may help indicate you are at this knowledge milestone include:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
5+ years relevant experience in mechanical system design.
Experience coordinating work with multidisciplinary project teams.
Demonstrated understanding of the creation and interpretation of construction drawings and specifications, mechanical standards, regulations, and building codes.
Ability to successfully prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in MS Office suite, including Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook.
What might set you apart from other candidates?
Pursuing licensure or licensed professional engineer (PE) preferred.
Skill in the use of Autodesk Revit to produce mechanical design documents.
Comfort with communicating professionally with internal and external customers across all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated passion for the field of mechanical engineering and architectural engineering consulting.
Excellent communication skills.
