Job Summary The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and administers therapeutic procedures in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring physician. This role establishes individualized physical therapy goals, provides treatments, and regularly reassesses patient progress, documenting all findings accurately.
Essential Functions
Conduct thorough physical therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
Administer safe and effective therapy treatments and document interventions.
Reassess and adjust treatment plans within appropriate timeframes.
Provide clear, concise documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, and post-treatment care.
Operate therapy equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized environment.
Collaborate with referring physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Tailor care to individual needs of all patient demographics.
Maintain compliance with facility policies, including safety, infection control, and risk management.
Address and resolve issues impacting patient care following chain of command.
Perform other duties as assigned and maintain reliable attendance.
Comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) required.
0-2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and safety standards.
Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.
Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
Licenses and Certifications
PT – Physical Therapist license in the state of employment required.
BCLS – Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire required.
