Job Summary
Assemble, install, rig, rework, and conduct functional tests on mechanical and electrical aircraft systems. May assist lower‑grade employees as needed and perform duties typical of higher classifications.
Responsibilities
Follow airplane orders, blueprints, engineering specifications, and standard procedures to assemble major aircraft structures, landing gear systems, props, and optional equipment.
Perform rework when required, interpreting Quality Notifications and repairing per engineering directives.
Operate aircraft mechanic hand tools and sheet‑metal tools such as rivet guns, drills, and dimpling equipment.
Repair and rework sheet‑metal parts, including cutting, filing, drilling, countersinking, fitting, shimming, riveting, and bucking.
Use functional testing equipment to set up and run tests.
Guide and instruct one to two lower‑grade employees.
Perform other related duties as required.
Education & Experience
High school diploma , an equivalent certificate, or a bronze‑level WorkKeys certification.
Broad knowledge of aircraft assembly and accepted aircraft practices, including basic arithmetic, blueprint reading, and engine principles.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in one or more of the following classifications:
Sheet Metal Assembler B
Wing Assembler B
Line Assembler/Installer B
Control Surfaces Rigger B
Aircraft Assem Mechanic B or C (must complete AAM checklist, pass SOJT evaluation, and finish Textron Aviation Blueprint course).
