Industrial Maintenance Technician

Fargo, ND
Schedule:
Night Shift (8 PM – 8 AM), 2-on/2-off rotation; training on day shift for 1 month
Summary / Objective:
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team in a high‑volume industrial baking facility. This role will maintain and repair production equipment, support changeovers, and ensure smooth operations in a fast‑paced food‑grade environment.
Essential Functions
Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment including conveyor belts, heaters, ovens, mixers, rolling systems, and basic heating/cooling mechanisms.
Perform preventative maintenance using daily checklists and respond to emergency repairs.
Fabricate replacement parts using bench tools and welding equipment.
Assist operators during changeovers (2 per day) and conduct 2‑hour dry runs to identify issues before production resumes.
Document all maintenance activities to comply with food safety standards.
Use proper materials and supplies for food‑grade machinery.
Participate in a 5–6 month training program, beginning with cleaning/changeovers and shadowing senior technicians.
Required Skills & Qualifications
General mechanical knowledge (gears, conveyors, bearings, bushings, hand/power tools).
Experience with automated or production equipment preferred; automotive experience acceptable.
Electrical knowledge required: wiring (positive/negative/ground), troubleshooting shorts/surges, VFD installation and troubleshooting, PLC input/output systems (operation, troubleshooting, editing/programming).
Ability to perform basic metal fabrication (drilling, finishing, welding).
High attention to detail and ability to complete logs accurately.
Must use food‑grade materials where required.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00–$36.00/hr.
