The Electrical Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installation activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and Worley's quality and safety requirements. The role supports Worley's commitment to delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality projects for its clients.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect electrical installation works including:
Power distribution systems
Cabling, tray and conduit installation
Earthing and lightning protection systems
Switchgear, MCCs, panels, and control systems
Lighting, grounding, and termination works
Verify construction activities comply with:
Approved IFC drawings and specifications
Project quality plans and inspection test plans (ITPs)
Applicable international and local electrical codes (IEC, NEC, IEEE, etc.)
Review and witness electrical testing activities such as:
Insulation resistance tests
Continuity and earthing tests
Functional and pre-commissioning tests
Identify non-conformances and issue NCRs as required; verify corrective actions are implemented.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and site engineers to resolve technical and quality issues.
Maintain accurate inspection records, daily reports, punch lists, and test documentation.
Support commissioning and handover activities by verifying completion and compliance of electrical works.
Promote and enforce Worley's health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at all times.
Participate in site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and audits as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum
5-10 years
of experience in electrical inspection or supervision on industrial, oil & gas, power, mining, or infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices and international standards.
Previous experience working with EPC contractors or engineering consultancies is preferred.
Relevant inspection or quality certifications (e.g., QA/QC, Electrical Inspector certification) are an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
Ability to identify installation and safety deficiencies.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Proficient in reporting and documentation.
Ability to work independently in a site-based, multicultural environment.
