Payment & Hours
Hourly Pay: $21.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Zero to one year mechanical experience with diesel engines (preferred)
Must be 18 years of age or older
Proficient in written and verbal English
Demonstrated customer service skills
Strong technical aptitude to learn and maintain equipment and machinery (preferred)
Ability to:
Quickly troubleshoot and resolve problems (preferred)
Work independently and as part of a team
Represent Ryder professionally and engage both employees and customers
Time‑management and priority‑setting skills
Track record of performance and good attendance
Personal accountability and proven results
Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office
Beginner knowledge of machines, tools, and repair (preferred)
Beginner knowledge of shop management systems (preferred)
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
DOT regulatory tech position
Safety‑sensitive position; age and work‑hour requirements per state law
Regulated Tech
Obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass Ryder drug test
Pass DOT physical
Pass Ryder road test
Pass Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (drug/alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
Responsibilities
Move heavy duty vehicles into/out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or deliver to rental shop; wash and detail vehicles manually or with automated equipment; fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles while adhering to shop safety policies; record fuel activity and maintain fuel/DEF inventories and reconciliations using hand‑held devices to identify customers and required services
Perform multi‑point inspections on inbound units: check tire pressure and tread, fluid levels, lights, wash windows, change tires, inspect truck refrigeration units, and report service or driver issues to the shop
Maintain fuel island area to Six Sigma standards and policies; perform facility maintenance and minor tasks assigned by supervisor
Attend and complete all Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments. The program includes: Service Island Training: multi‑point inspection (hand‑held), vehicle fueling and washing, environmental safety and spill response, safe driving, service island organization and cleanliness (6S standards)
Technician I Training: preventive maintenance, tire and wheel, service bay tool
Technician II Training: HD electrical, air and hydraulic brakes
Perform other duties as assigned
