We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual to assist the Packaging Team with day-to-day operations. A packaging technician has the responsibility of labeling, packaging bulk cannabis flower, joints and extracts, and preparing orders for retail sale. This is a manufacturing position in a production environment at Fresh Grows facility based in Somerset, NJ.
This role will support the 710 Labs brand but will be employed by our New Jersey partner, Fresh Cannabis, LLC
Responsibilities
Preparation and cleaning of boxes, jars, tubes, lids, and any equipment related to the packaging process.
Weighing/Gramming concentrates such as water hash, rosin, disposable vaporizers and pods.
Weighing cannabis flower into eighth, half-ounce, and ounce jars with weighed flower.
Packaging completed joints into tubes.
Fulfill orders with a high level of accuracy.
QC and Pack orders to ensure product integrity and space efficiency.
Being able to read, understand and follow basic invoices and SOP’s.
Apply correct stickers to packaging with attention to detail.
Assisting in other departments when time permits.
Cleaning of equipment and packaging areas.
Maintaining strict paper records of product grammed, product boxed, damaged items, discrepancies, and equipment issues.
Record keeping of all details pertinent to packaging and inventory.
Follow all QC protocols set forth in the department.
Storing of supplies and equipment, disposal of waste, and keeping the work area in pristine condition.
Participating in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
Working collectively and respectfully with other team members.
Enforcing a culture of safety and attention to detail.
Qualifications
1+ years' experience working in a production or manufacturing environment is highly desired.
Must be comfortable working in cold environments (35-40°F) for extended periods of time.
Experience and background in the cannabis industry is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and leadership both verbally and through written media.
Strong number skills and basic math. Experience with inventory is desired.
Detail orientated with an eye on process improvement and optimization.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high-stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires.
For extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking through the workday.
Be able to wear necessary PPE and adhere to proper safety and sanitation protocols.
Must be able to handle constructive criticism and guidance and offer the same to others in the department.
Ability to work a varying schedule including nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
Please note that the regulations and laws of The State of New Jersey require persons working onsite at a cannabis facility to be at least 21 years of age.
