Surgical Instrument Room Specialist

TRIA is seeking a Surgical Instrument Room Specialist to join our surgery center team. As a Partner for Good, you will help improve the care and experience of our patients and their families.
Position Summary Responsible and accountable for all functions of the sterile processing department, under the guidance of the sterile processing department supervisors and manager. The role ensures that all surgical instrumentation is properly decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, and/or high level disinfected. Instruments are distributed, tracked, and stored in a safe, secure, aseptic, and timely manner throughout the surgery center and clinics. The role also performs immediate‑use steam sterilization, tray turnovers between surgical cases, and releases sterilized loads from the department, observing standard practice. In specific locations, the role will also be responsible for surgical case cart assembly and delivery. Each team member will be qualified to train others and serve as a front‑line resource to sterile processing customers.
Work Schedule Monday–Friday, 11 am–7:30 pm
Education / Experience Central Service/Sterile Processing / Surgical Technology program certification with hands‑on clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
Central Service/Sterile Processing/surgical technology program certification with hands‑on clinical experience.
Current certification from CBSPD: C.S.P.D.T. or IAHCSMM: C.R.C.S.T. within 18 months from hire; certification must be maintained for all employment. (Note: Park Nicollet team members with at least 10 consecutive years of employment before 2015 as Instrument Room Aide/Technician (9AT) and/or Lead Sterile Processing Technician (116‑030) are exempt.)
Preferred Qualifications
Word Processing knowledge, typing, data entry, strong communication skills – verbal and written.
At least 1 year of central service/sterile processing/surgical technology experience.
