Senior Systems Engineer (Security Clearance Required)
Kratos Defense and Rocket Support Services is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support network engineering and administration for the GCSS-Army program under the GCSS-HMSS contract. U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance are required.
Responsibilities
Support and administer network and related hardware and software systems, primarily Cisco Nexus hardware, to ensure high availability of client/server applications.
Implement and maintain network security, operations, and support, including continuous improvement for optimal operation, security, and high availability.
Develop and execute network designs, problem determination and resolution, documentation of methodologies, performance tuning, and recovery procedures.
Maintain specialized skills in enterprise data center design standards, communications technology best practices, and security processes.
Keep documentation up to date and adhere to change‑management processes.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience with routing and switching using Cisco Nexus hardware.
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with limited supervision, self‑starter, and teamwork capability.
Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, including working with external vendors/consultants to diagnose complex problems and drive resolution.
Active Secret clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a DoD/DoW related environment.
Experience with firewalls, VPN concentrators such as Cisco ASA & Firepower.
Experience with networking hardware such as F5, Juniper, Riverbed.
Experience with monitoring solutions and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, NetScout.
Experience with disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
Education & Experience Requirements
U.S. citizenship required.
Active CompTIA Security+ certification required.
CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.
8+ years IT experience preferred, including 3 years of directly applicable experience.
BA/BS in an IT‑related field preferred.
