Position Overview
We are a New York City Certified B Corp law firm with a special focus in representing non‑profit and for‑profit real‑estate developers, investors and public finance agencies in structuring and closing complex, tax‑regulated affordable housing, and community development transactions.
We are seeking mission‑driven, entrepreneurial attorneys.
Specifically an attorney with 2‑8 years of experience , admitted to practice in the state of New York, with experience in commercial real estate and/or affordable housing transactions. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing developers in commercial real estate and affordable housing transactions, including but not limited to acquisitions, financings, joint‑venture negotiations, leasing, and non‑profit work. Experience submitting petitions to the New York State Attorney General’s Office Charities Bureau and the Supreme Court of the State of New York for approval of real‑estate and corporate transactions (e.g., mergers, dissolutions) is highly preferred. New York Bar admission is required; New Jersey or any other state admission is also a plus. Portable business is likewise a plus.
Responsibilities
Represent developers in commercial real estate and affordable housing transactions, including acquisitions, financings, joint‑venture negotiations, leasing, and non‑profit work.
Prepare and submit petitions to the New York State Attorney General’s Office Charities Bureau and the Supreme Court of the State of New York for approval of real‑estate and corporate transactions.
Assist with mergers, dissolutions, and other corporate transactions.
Qualifications
2‑8 years of experience in commercial real estate and/or affordable housing transactions.
Admitted to practice in the state of New York (New Jersey or other state admission is a plus).
Portable business is a plus.
Experience with philanthropic and non‑profit real‑estate transactions (preferred).
