Litigation Attorney (Pawleys Island, SC)

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling commercial disputes, probate & personal injury with a passion for advocacy in court, arbitration, and mediation. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, work closely with partners, and contribute to business development.

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in all phases of business litigation, including contract disputes, shareholder/partnership conflicts, intellectual property matters, breach of fiduciary duty, and other commercial issues as well as probate and some personal injury.

Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.

Manage discovery processes, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review.

Prepare and argue cases in court hearings, trials, arbitrations, and mediations.

Develop litigation strategies, advise clients on risk mitigation, and negotiate favorable settlements.

Collaborate with partners and associates on case strategy and client management.

Stay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting business clients.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active license to practice law in South Carolina.

3–8 years of experience in litigation (experience in state and federal courts preferred).

Proven track record in motion practice, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.

Excellent analytical, writing, oral advocacy, and negotiation skills.

Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Strong academic credentials and references.
