You will develop sophisticated system architectures within advanced modeling platforms, managing them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, high‑fidelity simulation, and comprehensive testing using state‑of‑the‑art tools. As a Systems Engineer, you will be integral to the development and refinement of innovative products and processes throughout the entire product lifecycle, ensuring technical excellence and mission critical success.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high‑performance ISR and aviation systems. Its end‑to‑end Command, Control, Computers, Communications and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities encompass design, integration, test, certification, ground/flight training and complete logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.

Responsibilities

Define and manage system architectures, interfaces and requirements using MBSE tools

Implement MBSE methodologies for the program

Develop and maintain the system models using SysML to ensure design consistency, traceability, and integration across multiple programs

Define and document system architecture requirements and ensure traceability to system models

Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity engineers and system safety engineers to ensure that architecture design is reusable, scalable, and certifiable

Assist with development of internal reference architecture

Work closely with other programs to develop services and components, to include building system models that will represent system performance attributes so that key performance requirements can be tracked and analyzed through the program Life‑cycle

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experience

Higher education may substitute for relevant experience

Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices

Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams

Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles

Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required and must be maintained

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience with requirements management and system modelling tools, such as ENOVIA Requirements Management, DOORs, Cameo, Dymola, and MATLAB

Practical knowledge of industry standard Systems Engineering design principles, to include, but not limited to, requirements management, Traditional Systems Engineering, and Model Based System Engineering (MBSE)

Experience and certification in INCOSE standards (ASEP/CSEP)

Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

Ability to administer baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high impact trade studies and other measures

Exposure to establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
