Job Overview Basic Commerce & Industries, Inc. (BCI) is seeking to fill full‑time Senior Systems Engineer / Senior Navy Subject Matter Expert positions in support of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Integrated Combat Systems Department (V), Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems Department (B), and other customers within NSWCDD, their tenant organizations and customers. BCI’s areas of expertise include Human Systems Integration/Human‑Factors Engineering, Interoperability, Training, Operational Systems Safety, and Weapon & Combat Systems Engineering.

Job Details Location : Dahlgren, VA 22448 Telework : Minimal with Task Lead Authorization; not remote. Start Date : Fall/Winter 2025 Shift : Days 0800‑1600

Required Experience

Minimum of 20 years U.S. Navy surface warfare experience on active duty senior enlisted or officer, serving on carriers, DDGs, CGs, LCS, large‑deck or smaller amphibious ships, or land‑based test sites.

Or 15–20 years civil service or OEM experience.

Required specialized experience in Aegis Combat & Weapon Systems, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, Ship Self Defense System, Integrated Air and Missile Defense, NIFC‑CA, DDG‑1000, Littoral Combat Ship, or U.S. Coast Guard.

Advanced writing and speaking abilities.

Two years experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

A formal degree supporting systems engineering, software engineering or significant analysis experience is a plus and may be required for some positions.

Description of Duties

Providing review and recommendations on combat systems integration technical issues.

Conducting risk management and assessments.

Conducting predictive Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analyses.

Assisting with the organization and management of testing, planning and conducting test events.

Reviewing requirements traceability and analysis.

Providing technical assessments, evaluations, and analysis on system problems.

Assisting with program certification activities.

Performing analyses of System Safety Plans, Safety Management Plans, assessment of hardware/software changes/issues affecting system safety and analyses of safety test documentation/plans.

Minimal travel may be required.
