Community Medical Services (CMS) is hiring an Onboarding Specialist. Under the supervision of the VP of EXT Partnerships, the Onboarding Specialist is responsible for managing high-volume, full-cycle onboarding processes to ensure a smooth and compliant transition for new hires. This role partners with HR, hiring managers, and candidates to deliver a positive onboarding experience while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
The position is currently remote and may evolve to a hybrid schedule over time, with on‑site requirements as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities
Manage high‑volume onboarding for new hires across the entire organization.
Coordinate and process background checks, drug screenings, and employment verifications.
Complete and audit documentation for I‑9 compliance with federal regulations.
Ensure all onboarding documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted timely.
Utilize HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred) to track onboarding progress and employee records.
Communicate clearly with candidates, hiring managers, and other business partners throughout the onboarding process.
Maintain confidentiality of employee information and comply with healthcare and employment regulations.
Identify opportunities for process improvement to support onboarding scalability and growth.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in onboarding required.
Proven ability to manage high‑volume onboarding in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong knowledge of compliance requirements (I‑9, background checks, drug screens).
Tech‑savvy with proficiency in HRIS and MS systems.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Paylocity experience preferred.
Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
Tools And Equipment
Frequent use of a telephone, computer, printer, fax machine, and copier.
Frequent use of the internet and various web browser software, and Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Working Conditions
Prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching associated with an office environment.
Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
Frequent and prolonged typing and operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones.
