Job Title Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

Department Maintenance Administration

Reports To GSE Tooling Manager

FLSA Status Non-Exempt

Summary The Ground Support Equipment Technician is responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness, and safe operating condition of all ground support equipment (GSE), machinery, building, property, and vehicles to applicable standards all while meeting cost, quality, and safety standards.

Essential Functions

Supervises and performs where applicable, the maintenance, and upkeep of the facility ensuring safe operating condition of the facility and vehicles. Ensuring facilities and their contents are kept in a clean and presentable condition.

Coordinates work schedules with contractors, manage and supervise internal labor as required to meet schedules and budgets.

Proactively plans and requests for new maintenance products and equipment as necessary.

Responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of all GSE equipment for daily operations.

Orders materials and supplies such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts for GSE.

Coordinates with contractors and inspect construction and installation progress, repair and removal of equipment and utilities within the facilities.

Ensures that all work is performed to National Airlines quality standards, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Promotes and actively engages in continuous improvement activities.

Additional functions as delegated by the Manager of Facilities, GSE, & Tooling.

All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualification, Experience, & Skills

High school diploma or GED certificate.

At least 18 years of age.

Valid state driver’s license and meet the company’s insurability requirements.

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems.

Ability to read and understand OEM maintenance and parts manuals.

Good communication skills, both written and oral.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Excellent customer relations skills required.

A flexible work schedule may include working overtime, nights, on weekends, holidays, and be on call.

Knowledge of use of PPE and safety protocol related to the possible exposure to dust, chemicals, fumes, vapors, or mists that could potentially affect the health of the employee.

3-5 years’ experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified in the essential functions.

Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak English.
