Pharmacy Floor Technician – Tyler, TX
We are seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Pharmacy Floor Technician to join our team in Tyler, TX. This full‑time position is 40 hours per week, consisting of five 8‑hour shifts, including weekdays and every other weekend.
Work Schedule Shifts typically follow a 2‑week rotation (based on staffing needs):
Opening Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Mon–Fri) Closing Shift: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM (Mon–Fri) Every Other Weekend: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Sat & Sun) Overtime, holidays, and additional weekend coverage may be required.
Rate: $20.00 per hour Terms: Temp (3-6 months) to Hire
Position Summary The Pharmacy Floor Technician is responsible for picking, labeling, scanning, and preparing prescriptions for final pharmacist verification. This role supports daily pharmacy operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities Fills daily drug orders accurately, efficiently, and on time under pharmacist supervision Processes returned medications and handles recycling/disposal per established procedures Prepacks frequently used medications, labels, and stores them during low‑volume periods Manually packages materials and products as needed Pulls/picks medications from shelving and storage areas (including prepack racks) Applies labels to blister cards and scans products for accuracy Notifies the pharmacist of any product that does not scan correctly Maintains workstation areas and replenishes stock supplies Follows all applicable regulations, including HIPAA Adheres to departmental policies regarding safety, attendance, and dress code
Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to work at a consistent, moderate pace Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Active and clear Texas Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications Previous pharmacy technician experience
