Position Overview The Supervisor directs skilled personnel in maintenance, replacement, installation, and removal of equipment in the power plant and associated structures to assure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation.
Key Responsibilities
Calibrate, test, and perform corrective maintenance of instruments and controls.
Supervise I&C technicians or assign them to tasks directed by plant engineers during normal and outage operations.
Control measuring and test equipment in accordance with the Callaway Operating Quality Assurance Manual.
Oversee predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and related surveillance testing.
Plan, schedule, and assign work; assist the Planning & Scheduling department.
Ensure safe and efficient use of manpower and resources, maintaining high standards of workmanship and training.
Ensure work activities comply with applicable procedures and policies.
Document completed work accurately.
Perform special studies and projects as assigned by Maintenance Department management.
Assume Emergency Response Organization duties in accordance with the Callaway Radiological Emergency Response Plan.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in instrumentation preferred. Five or more years of experience in instrumentation and controls required. Nuclear power plant operations or I&C experience preferred. Training instructor experience preferred.
Additional Qualifications Good decision‑making, leadership, communication, and human relations skills required. Selected applicants must pass the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status to advance to interview. Candidates must establish permanent residence within sixty highway miles of the Callaway Energy Center. Security screening required for access.
Working Conditions The Supervisor works a standard day or evening shift in an office/plant environment. Additional hours, callouts, and rotating shifts may be required during refueling outages and emergent plant activities as needed.
Compensation Range $105,100.00 – $162,900.00
