Job Description This position is for current students of an accredited Engineering program.
This internship experience will support the design and validation of various low-pressure and high-pressure gasoline engine components. The student will also support other departments in the plant (production, quality, etc) when development related tasks arise.
Examples of tasks include:
Tear-downs of field return/development tested components to expose internal failure locations in order to analyze surface conditions.
Documentation of tear-down investigations (presentations and/or reports) and presenting results
Coordinating and conducting design related testing
Data analysis, interpretation and presentation of testing results
Creating scripts in order to automate repetitive tasks.
Qualifications Preferred Skills and Background:
Interest in Automotive Background
Mechanical background along with general understanding of material
Matlab and CAD experience
Coding experience (python, javascript, etc)
Ability to effectively present and communicate findings
Ability to work within a team
Knowledge of mechanical drawing, Geometric dimension & tolerance
Minimum Requirements:
Currently enrolled in an accredited university majoring in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Materials Science with at least one semester completed.
Strong Microsoft Office skills
