About Kingman, Arizona Kingman, AZ is located along Historic Route 66, just 90 minutes south of Las Vegas and two hours North of Phoenix in the beautiful high desert of Mohave County. The Patient Financial Services (PFS) Billing Supervisor supports the PFS Billing Manager in overseeing end to end revenue cycle billing operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant claim generation and submission. This role coordinates billing workflows, monitors key revenue cycle performance indicators (e.g., clean claim rates, DNFB, denial trends), and ensures staff consistently deliver high-quality service. The supervisor evaluates billing quality, identifies process gaps, and implements corrective actions and continuous improvements to optimize cash flow, reduce rework, and support a positive patient financial experience.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee quality control across all billing activities to ensure compliant, timely, and accurate claim submission. Enforcing hospital and departmental billing policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
Ensures unbilled and held accounts are identified, corrected, and advanced through the revenue cycle to protect hospital revenue.
Provides training and resources to billing staff to prevent errors and ensure regulatory and payer compliance prior to billing.
Supervises daily billing operations, including work assignments and schedules, to meet departmental and payer requirements.
Monitors staff performance, provides coaching, and administers corrective action when billing or compliance issues arise.
Collaborates with Patient Financial Services team members, clinical departments, and medical staff to resolve billing issues and support compliant workflows.
Assists with hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and ongoing development of billing staff.
Performs hands on billing and claim submission as needed during staffing shortages or claim backlogs.
Assists the manager with all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Experience:
Three (3) years’ experience in insurance billing including electronic transmission of claims and one (1) year supervisory experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Understanding of claims reimbursement; typing and computer experience; verbal and numerical intelligence; ability to interact with the public; ability to motivate people and utilize resources in an organized manner.
Preferences Education:
Some college
Experience:
In a clinic or hospital business setting
Special Position Requirements Blood Borne Disease Exposure Category: Category III
Work Requirements Ability to sit for six to seven hours daily at a computer terminal; occasionally lifts and carries up to 15 pounds of files to storage area; must be able to deal calmly and effectively with frustrated and/or angry clients.
