Field Service Technician
Union role | Hourly Field Differential Included
We're seeking an experienced
Field Service Technician
to join
our team , supporting on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of
power generation equipment
and related electrical systems. You'll work independently from a fully equipped
service truck , providing field support on behalf of
us
across the region.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, service, and repair
diesel & gas generators (5KW-3MW)
Work on
switchgear, ATS systems, control panels , and electrical distribution equipment
Perform
load bank testing, commissioning , and preventive maintenance
Use diagnostic tools such as
ET ,
SIS , and other software
Provide excellent
customer service & technical support
on behalf of
our company
Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all safety standards
Key Competencies
Experience with major generator brands:
CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, Detroit Diesel
Familiarity with switchgear brands such as
Russelectric, Lakeshore, Asco
Strong
electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
abilities
Ability to interpret
wiring schematics & control diagrams
Military or field-based technical experience is a strong plus
Comfortable working independently in outdoor environments
Must provide and safely use
personal mechanic's tools
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Completion of a
2-year technical program
in diesel or power generation technology
5+ years
hands‑on experience repairing diesel engines, generators, or industrial equipment
You should be proficient in:
Diesel Engine Systems
Light Vehicle Diesel Engines
Machines & technologies you'll use:
Diesel engine
Diesel Vehicles
Salary info: $35 - $42 / hr
