Recruiter – Janitorial Staffing

Job Type:

Full-Time

Shift Times:

Monday–Friday | 9:00 am-6:00 pm (some evenings/weekends as needed)

Starting Salary:

$70,000 per year | Salaried employee

Job Summary:

The bilingual (Spanish) Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring qualified janitorial and maintenance staff to meet the company’s operational needs. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to use multiple recruiting platforms, and proficiency in Excel to manage employee data.

The Recruiter will work closely with field supervisors and the HR team to ensure adequate staffing levels, support retention initiatives, and drive innovative strategies to strengthen our workforce.

Recruiting Activities

Post job openings on multiple platforms (Indeed, social media, company website, and job boards).

Attend job fairs, community events, and partner with local agencies to build applicant pipelines.

Build relationships with community organizations, staffing agencies, and workforce development programs.

Screening & Interviewing

Review applications and conduct pre-screening calls.

Schedule and conduct interviews, in person and virtually.

Coordinate with Operations and HR to match candidates to open positions.

Onboarding & Follow‑Up

Schedule orientations, Livescan appointments, and pre‑employment screenings.

Track candidate progress from initial contact to onboarding using digital tools.

Maintain regular follow‑up with new hires to support retention goals.

Technology

Microsoft Excel:

Use Excel to track and filter employee data, maintain recruiting pipelines, and manage applicant information.

Microsoft Office Suite:

Use Word for offer letters and reports, and Outlook for communication with candidates and staff.

Recruiting Platforms:

Proficient with job posting and applicant tracking systems (Indeed, ZipRecruiter, LinkedIn, social media, etc.).

Digital Tools:

Use scheduling and onboarding apps to streamline hiring processes.

Post Open Jobs:

Post current jobs to the company website and help onboard new employees.

Artificial Intelligence:

Familiar with how to use ChatGPT is a plus, but not required.

Communication Skills

Professional Email Communication:

Compose clear, professional emails to candidates and hiring managers.

Instructional Clarity:

Provide clear onboarding instructions and expectations to new hires.

Customer Service Communication:

Respond to applicant inquiries promptly, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience.

Report Writing & Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of interviews, hires, and recruiting metrics for management.

Safety, Dress Code, and Company Compliance

Ensure that all candidates understand company policies, safety protocols, and uniform requirements before assignment.

Maintain compliance with all legal and company hiring standards.

Communicate expectations clearly during onboarding to reduce safety and compliance issues in the field.

Key Skills

Keep an ongoing record of on‑call employees who can provide temporary coverage when employees call out sick or utilize vacation time.

Be familiar with using text‑blasting platforms to communicate with employees regularly.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Creative and tech‑savvy problem solver.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and digital tools (specifically filters and sorting).

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and speak and hear.

Occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds (files, recruitment materials).

Must be able to travel between recruitment events, job fairs, and various locations as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is preferred.

2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in janitorial, facilities, or service industries.

Must pass background check (Livescan) and pre‑employment drug/alcohol testing.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Availability to support occasional weekend or evening hiring events.
