The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR related duties and work closely with HR Manager, managers and leaders. This position is responsible for the following functional areas: coaching/training, policies and procedures, talent management, employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, onboarding, reporting, compliance and performance management.
Job Description
Ensure all policies and procedures are up to date and implemented correctly and in a timely manner
Assist in the onboarding of employees within multiple locations
Assist and support management and the leadership team with handling and resolving Human Resources issues.
Responsible for Employee Relations investigations and trainings.
Responds to employee inquiries regarding benefits, payroll and policies.
Inform Human Resources management of issues related to employee relations within the various facilities.
Assist managers/supervisors with hiring processes and issues. Coordinate and conduct applicant drug screens, reference checks, background checks, and social security number verification.
Create and maintain new hire and personnel files.
Assist with orientation of new employees and facilitate New Employee Orientation Program.
Assist with recruitment process.
Assist with the performance management and talent development processes.
Ensure accurate maintenance of all employee records and files (e.g., interview documents, I-9s).
Processes paperwork for personnel actions including terminations, FMLA, benefits enrollment, etc.
Complete employment verifications ensure compliance with all local, state and federal laws.
Respond to unemployment claims and hearings for assigned facilities.
Other administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
4 to 8 years of HR experience
Experience working within a distribution/manufacturing environment
Experience supporting multiple sites a plus
Highly organized, proactive and ability to work independently
Strong computer and communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Seniority level Associate
