Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist will serve as the first point of contact for all HR-related inquiries and requests. The HR Generalist will be responsible for daily HR functions such as recruiting, HRIS administration, benefits assistance, leave of absence requests, as well as interpreting company policies and procedures.
Job Description Essential Duties
Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Assists supervisors with human resources-related activities to ensure compliance with all applicable company policies/procedures and state and federal regulations (e.g., affirmative action, equal employment opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Fair Labor Standards Act, and wage and hour regulations).
Ensures the completion of monthly reports on attendance, performance reviews, vacation accruals, service awards, annual EEO-1 and Vets-4212 reports.
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; and training.
Coordinates HR actions with the benefits and payroll departments.
Conducts new employee orientation.
Assists in developing and revising policies, procedures, and job descriptions as needed.
Updates and maintains job profiles, HBUs, and HR-related documents in Workday.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Duties
Assists in managing HR records (organize, retrieve, research, protect, etc.)
Prepares and presents soft skill training for off-site locations, travel will be required
Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent proofreading skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with management and workforce employees
Ability to act independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
Strong analytical ability and problem‑solving skills
Strong organizational, administrative, and prioritization skills
Advanced computer/software skills in Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office
Strong knowledge of pertinent company policies/procedures and state and federal regulations
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive material
Knowledge of HRIS System Workday software is a plus
Required Education and Experience
Requires a four-year degree and five or more years of experience in human resources
Advanced Excel skills
Experience working with Workday HRIS
Training in effective presentation skills
Exposure to industrial safety standards a plus
