About the Role Baton is seeking a motivated

Finance Analyst

to support our broader finance, valuations, and reconciliations function. Reporting directly to the

Head of Valuations , this role will play a critical part in owning, managing, and supporting key financial workflows across the business. You will work on core processes such as small business valuations, quality of earnings analyses, and financial reviews for the small businesses listed on Baton’s platform, helping to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency throughout the listing process. In addition to hands‑on finance work, this role will collaborate closely with client‑facing teams and act as a product‑minded partner to optimize and continuously improve Baton’s financial workflows, working cross‑functionally with engineering, product, and finance.

What You’ll Do

Support

small business valuations ,

quality of earnings analyses , and

financial reviews

for companies listed on Baton’s platform, analyzing historical financial statements and other data to identify trends, normalize earnings, and highlight risks and opportunities that inform valuation and decision‑making

Own key

financial reconciliation

and

data validation

workflows that support accurate, transparent listings

Partner with

client‑facing teams

to gather, clarify, and explain financial information to founders and buyers

Collaborate with

finance, product, & engineering

to improve automation, accuracy, and efficiency across core financial workflows

Contribute to

strategic finance initiatives

that evolve Baton’s finance and valuations capabilities, including process documentation, tooling enhancements, and development of best practices

Support overall finance department data gathering and analysis, including operations and administrative projects.

What You’ll Bring

Currently pursuing or graduated with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field

Candidate has applicable finance internship experience or 1-2 years of professional work experienceStrong analytical and detail-oriented skills, particularly in reviewing financial data

Comfortable working with financial statements, tax returns, and data reconciliation

Proficiency in Excel and willingness to learn new tools

Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within a fast‑paced team environment

Self‑motivated, proactive, and eager to contribute to a mission‑driven startup

The role is based in New York City at the Baton HQ in the Flatiron District

Desired start date: March 2026
