HOURS: Monday‑Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (weekends as needed). HIRING PAIR RANGE: $50,000 – $60,000. Job Summary The Assistant Property Manager I provides leadership, work direction and support to onsite Leasing Consultants. In partnership with the Property Manager, this position sets strategic direction for the leasing team to achieve company goals.
Essential Job Duties
Directly supervise property employees, coach, develop, and train all leasing staff.
Oversee the site's leasing activity to ensure property occupancy is maximized.
Oversee the move‑in and move‑out process, including creating the turnover schedule, performing unit inspections, and coordinating identified work.
Perform all Leasing Consultant job duties.
Qualify prospective renters by gathering applicant’s rental and credit history and obtaining approval according to company guidelines.
Assist with rent collection, accept payments and send notices on delinquent accounts.
Administer completion of essential office paperwork, including reviewing and coding invoices.
Comply with all safety program requirements and promote safety in the workplace.
Conduct regular market research using public information to understand competition.
Collect rental information data as requested by Property Manager using only public information.
Plan resident functions, attend functions, and participate as needed.
Receive all telephone calls and in‑person visits; handle resident requests, concerns, and comments when Property Manager is absent.
Complete maintenance work orders promptly and inform the maintenance team.
Ensure maintenance repairs are handled satisfactorily and follow up with residents as needed.
Qualifications Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 1–2 years as an Assistant Property Manager or equivalent experience.
Minimum one year of demonstrated leasing experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience with Yardi preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Fluent in English with strong oral and written communication.
Use tact, diplomacy, and a courteous manner when dealing with co‑workers and the public.
Excellent decision‑making, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
Ability to manage, coach, and lead teams.
Strong attention to detail.
Collaboration skills in a team environment.
Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and applicable local provisions.
Real Estate Licenses must not be active while working in this role.
