Job Summary and Qualifications As a professional Registered Nurse (RN), you will be the patient and family advocate, consistently applying the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment and leadership to deliver safe nursing care. You will collaborate with the patient care team to achieve quality outcomes, model confidence and professionalism, and follow Texas Nurse Practice Act and Methodist Excellence standards.
Essential Job Functions
Apply nursing judgment through a systematic approach: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
Perform comprehensive, timely, and ongoing assessments, including psycho‑social and pain assessments, and patient education needs.
Develop individual plans of care, identify problems, formulate diagnoses, set goals, and incorporate family into the plan.
Prioritize and implement efficient nursing plans of care.
Conduct timely evaluations, anticipate changes, re‑assess as needed, and adjust plans of care accordingly.
Collaborate with team members, communicate timely and effectively with physicians and others, use hand‑off and SBAR communication methods.
Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, organizational skills, prioritize tasks, recognize errors, analyze contributing factors, and initiate corrective action.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely entries in the patient medical record.
Maintain current nursing knowledge and apply policies and procedures for safety, infection prevention, fall prevention, medication safety, hourly rounding, and AIDET principles.
Supervise tasks delegated to unlicensed personnel and be accountable for their performance.
Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
1 year applicable experience required.
